Pendulum arm technology for stable operation in varied terrain

Developed for varied terrain and stable operation

The 500 series pendulum arms are developed to provide high mobility, stability and control in demanding terrain. Through the movement of the pendulum arms, the machine can be actively levelled and follow ground variations, enabling stable operation over logs and rocks as well as controlled handling of steep slopes. The pendulum arms are an integral part of Eco Log’s concept for the 500 series harvesters, contributing to both excellent ground clearance and a high level of safety when working in difficult terrain.

Through their compliance and adaptability, the pendulum arms create the conditions for a stable working platform, providing both the operator and the crane with an optimal position. This results in improved control, greater comfort and a more efficient workflow under varying conditions. It also enhances crane operation, where both reach and precision benefit from a stable machine position.

All Eco Log 500 series harvesters are equipped with four hydraulically controlled pendulum arms. Each pendulum arm can be operated individually or used in float mode, where the pendulum arms automatically interact during off-road driving. With the help of the pendulum arms, the machine can be tilted, raised or lowered to adapt to the terrain and create the best possible working position for both the operator and the crane.

The pendulum arms also facilitate service and maintenance by allowing the machine to be easily raised or lowered for improved access.

Five benefits of pendulum arm technology:
  • Provides excellent ground clearance by allowing the machine to be raised or lowered as needed.

  • Contributes to stability by counteracting machine tilt when working on slopes.

  • Creates better conditions for crane operation through optimal machine positioning.

  • Enables a lower transport height when loading onto a trailer.

  • Facilitates service as well as the installation and adjustment of tracks and traction aids.
