In the forests around Sala we find Mattias Hedqvist and Tim Tuvunger Jakobsson. Mattias owns the company and is thereby Tims employer, but as we meet them it is obvious they know each other well and that they are, above all, close friends
– Yes, we have known each other a while, and gone to school together since the seventh grade. Also, we went to high school together studying forestry. And now, here we are, working together as well, says Mattias.
– Yes, it was Mattias who got me in to forestry in the first place. So this is all on you, says Tim laughing.
The atmosphere is relaxed, and they both tell us that their cooperation works very well, something that gives the days in the forest a golden edge.
– It works very well, and we have fun days together, says Mattias.
– Yeah, it is great. It is fun to have your best friends as your employer, says Tim.
Today the company, MH Skog AB, owns an Eco Log 574F, forwarding as a subcontractor to other felling entrepreneurs. Before the F-forwarder arrived about a year ago, they operated an Eco Log 574D. To Tim, who mainly drives the forwarder, this new model is a big step forward compared to the previous machine.
– I really appreciate the operator environment in this new forwarder. You feel it clearly in the end of a working day as you always stay fresh and alert through the entire day. It is a really well-designed cabin and you can tell they have really given the operator a lot of thought, says Tim.
– I agree, and also, I experience the machines as really reliable and easy to work with. They are simply great machines. Also, we are very satisfied with the service provider around here, Sala Maskinservice. Tobbe and Henke really performs a great job and has a good customer service. That is invaluable, says Mattias.
Even if the company today is only operating as a subcontractor there are plans ahead as an Eco Log 560E harvester will arrive to the company in a near future.
– Yes, we will form our own logging group here in Västmanland. This creates a larger context which really feels great, says Mattias.
