Growing up on the family estate, a farmhouse including a forested area in the Alfta district of central Sweden, Emil Perjans gained an interest in forestry at an early age. He used to work for the forestry contracting company Vallsta Skogsmaskiner, but has now been running his own business, Perjans Skog & Jord, for three years. Alongside thinning and final logging for the forest company Stora Enso, he also cultivates grain.

Working in the forest suits Emil, and he says that it offers him several advantages.

– It offers a great deal of freedom, with some days really beautiful while others are not quite as nice. It can be a bit lonely at times, but I like that. So, for me, working in the great outdoors is ideal, says Emil.

Emil operates an Eco Log 560E, fitted with a Log Max 5000V with multi-tree handling He had several reasons for choosing Eco Log, with good local service and fast and convenient access to spare parts being two of the most important.

– The pendulum technology is excellent and allows you to resolve many challenges, such as crossing slopes to pile wood for the forwarder. And I like the powerful crane. It lets you fell really large diameters while still being suitably agile for thinning smaller stands, says Emil.

The Log Max head with multi-tree handling is also an asset that truly benefits Emil.

-The multi-tree handling increases my production considerably. I don’t think I could achieve the same production rates without it, Emil ends.
