A few days after Christmas, Storm Johannes swept across large parts of Sweden, leaving extensive damage in its wake. The forests of Dalarna and Gävleborg were among the hardest hit, with thousands of trees brought down by the powerful winds. Several months later, the intensive work of dealing with the enormous volumes of windthrown timber left behind by the storm is still ongoing.
To gain insight into what everyday life looks like after the storm, we visit contractor Emil Perjans of Perjans Skog & Jord, who is working in the heart of the storm-damaged forests of Hälsingland.
