Thinning Head
EC 461 LF Next Generation (NG)

Are you looking for a powerful thinning head in a convenient format?

The EC 461 LF NG is the next generation of thinning head, combining low weight, compact dimensions and impressive productivity – perfect for both harvesters operating from service roads and fitted with long cranes, as well as for smaller harvesters operating in stands.
With the EC 461 LF Next Generation, you get an energy-efficient and fuel-efficient head that is able to produce
more at a lower cost – an asset for your overall economy and your forestry operations.

Thanks to the unique Low Friction Concept, you get a head that offers rapid feeding, low energy consumption,
and high operational reliability. With patented solutions such as LogHold and proportionally angled feed rollers,
the EC 461 LF NG delivers impressive efficiency even when thinning larger diameter trees.

The head reaches its absolute peak capacity in stands with a diameter of 8–35 cm bhd, but thanks to the LF concept, it can also handle larger diameter stems efficiently.

1. More productive and faster multi-tree handling.

2. Reduced fuel consumption and increased productivity with new generation hydraulic valve.

3. More efficient with 50% larger chain oil tank with larger filling capacity and an improved strainer.

More stable design with change of saw
unit from SuperCut 100 to 100S.

5. Faster feed speed with new generation of roller motors with improved energy efficiency, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and increased production.

6. More reliable with improved hose routing.

Eco Log Saw Control

Maximizes productivity in every cut

All of Eco Log´s harvester heads have been equipped with Eco Log Saw Control, a patented system that ensures a maximum performance from both machine and harvester head in every cut. The system continuously adapts the guide bar feed, and as a result each cut is optimized irrespective of tree species, stem diameter, chain sharpness or how much power the machine is providing.

A link between the machine and the harvester head ensures that every cut is performed with as high efficiency as possible, where the system continuously optimizes the values regarding to external conditions without the operator needing to change any basic settings manually. It makes no difference if the harvester head is used in mixed forest, in final felling or if you process a spruce with your first cut immediately followed by a birch. Eco Log Saw Control ensures that your felling is fast, smooth and efficient at all times.

Eco Log Saw Control

  • The harvester head continuously adapts to current conditions and delivers guide bar pressure and guide bar feed irrespective of tree species.
  • Links the saw and machine for optimal performance and efficiency from both harvester head and harvester.
  • Minimizing the risk of cutting cracks and generates time savings and efficiency thanks to high cutting speed.
